Bridges

Bridges serve as replacements for missing teeth, typically comprising a false tooth or teeth supported by crowns attached to the adjacent teeth, creating a unified structure. Different types of bridges include cantilevered bridges supported on one side and resin-bonded bridges utilizing thin metal "wings" affixed to the hidden surface of neighbouring teeth instead of crowns. These bridges can be crafted from materials such as gold, a combination of gold and porcelain (with the gold concealed), or entirely from porcelain/ceramic.

Dentures

Complete dentures serve to replace all teeth in an individual's upper and lower jaw, unless specified as either an upper or lower denture. Typically crafted from acrylic material, these dentures ensure a secure fit by closely conforming to the gum line. Despite their stability, they may not offer the same level of security as other dental solutions, prompting the common use of dental implants to enhance stability and functionality.

On the other hand, partial dentures are employed when some natural teeth are retained. These partial dentures can either be supported by the gums, teeth, or a combination of both. Preferably, utilising the remaining natural teeth to support the partial denture is recommended for increased stability. Partial dentures supported solely by the gums are typically constructed from acrylic, while those relying on teeth support boast a metal framework for added strength and durability.
